Colorado graduate Jenny Simpson, the inaugural women's Bowerman recipient in 2009, attended the 2018 award ceremony at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio, Texas. Simpson remains the collegiate record holder in the women's indoor mile, along with the outdoor 1,500 and 5,000 meters.
